Vintage Rose - Lesley Teare

A little while ago, I'd left a comment to Meggie of Cross Stitch Cottage
congratulating her on  her latest finish & wishing I'd got the issue of Cross Stitcher with the freebie wooden keyring
I could have kicked myself for missing the issue, I'd always wanted to give a go at this.

Well, my comment didn't go unnoticed by Jo of Serendipitous Stitching!!
Jo kindly sent me the April issue I was missing! Thank you again sweetie ☺

So last Friday evening I worked on this little fun project, it was really quick and easy.
It's Vintage Rose from Lesley Teare finished off as a wooden keyring

Jo warned me about people having run out of thread, so I was extra careful not to waste anything.
I ended up with plenty of leftovers for all the colours, except of course for the blue!
Yes, I'd run out with only 2 full crosses to go... A little trip to the local thread shop solved the problem

While looking through the magazine, I also spotted another design I want to stitch ☺
This is called Family Tree and has been designed by Lesley Teare
I just love the simplicity & the colour choice
So this is now kitted and ready to go...
After I've finished a Halloween project I'm working on
What do you think?

Happy Stitching,
Ingrid x

Did you put any fabric at the back? - just asking out of curiosity. I was wondering what to do with mine :)

I blogged about mine here, if you're interested:
