Snowball - Maria Diaz

Here is a last minute unplanned finish
A Secret Santa exchange has been organised at work & I've decided to offer a handmade gift this year

This is Snowball the penguin from Maria Diaz
This was a free kit from the Christmas Cute Cross Stitch magazine
However, I've only used the chart & discarded both fabric & threads provided!

The penguin has been stitched on my last piece of Zweigart 28ct Brittney Pear Grey fabric
(I love this one & MUST get some more!)
Worked 2 over 2, using DMC preconised colours (except for the yellow :P)

Finished off at a flat ornament with more of my grey star Tilda fabric,
bells and cording - which I made with 2 of the colours used in the stitching.
It was my first go at cording & will definitely use this again
- Thanks Marcy!! -

Now, I'm not sure this finish is worth me handing the gift away
I know I'm my worse critic but it is far from perfect:
It is slightly off centered
I cut my stitching fabric too short & it started threading away when I was assembling everything
and I think the cording has been badly attached, I can see the ending of it on the right...
What do you think? Would you be happy with this as a little present??

Happy Stitching
Mii

grelots & corde (faite maison, svp!)
