Back in time...

Here is a non-stitching post!!
A few days ago we went for a family Medieval day out at Warwick Castle Despite being busy with other holiday makers & unwanted wasps we had a great day out!
Visit was complete with jousting... Apparently the King wasn't impressed with the presence of a French person in the audience...

A walk on the ramparts & towers (more than 530 steps apparently!) as well as a viewing of the state rooms in the main castle
A bit of sword combat...

Some lovely falconery display! My camera decided to have a fit when Ernie the owl made an appearance So we will have to do with a HUGE sea eagle...

And finally the arming of the trebuchet with a fireball Which I couldn't get on camera as it was too fast...

Happy Stitching! Ingrid x

Vintage Rose - Lesley Teare

A little while ago, I'd left a comment to Meggie of Cross Stitch Cottage congratulating her on  her latest finish & wishing I'd got the issue of Cross Stitcher with the freebie wooden keyring I could have kicked myself for missing the issue, I'd always wanted to give a go at this.
Well, my comment didn't go unnoticed by Jo of Serendipitous Stitching!! Jo kindly sent me the April issue I was missing! Thank you again sweetie ☺
So last Friday evening I worked on this little fun project, it was really quick and easy.
It's Vintage Rose from Lesley Teare finished off as a wooden keyring

Jo warned me about people having run out of thread, so I was extra careful not to waste anything. I ended up with plenty of leftovers for all the colours, except of course for the blue! Yes, I'd run out with only 2 full crosses to go... A little trip to the local thread shop solved the problem

While looking through the magazine, I also spotted another design I want to stitch ☺ Th…

Thank you!

The magazine has arrived safely all the way from the USA
What a treat..
There are some really really nice patterns and I can't wait to start stitching
My only problem is which design to choose?

There was also an other little treat in the envelope
Carolyn has kindly had a sneak peak at my wish list on 123Stitch
