Close To You - Maia - 2014 Update 1

Do you remember this lovely design??
Yes, my WIP/UFO, whichever is more appropriate...
I've been feeling in need of stitching something colourful this weekend
So decided to put a few crosses on these delightful tulips

To refresh your memory - as I'm ashamed to say that I last worked on this in Jan 2013...
This is Close To You from Maia
Stitched on 16 ct tan Aida fabric
Using Anchor stranded cotton
This beautiful design is from an original painting by artist Nel Whatmore

Picture below is where I'm at now

There is still time to take part in my Easter Egg-change!

Happy Stitching!

Vous rappelez-vous de ce superbe design??
Biensur, mon WIP/UFO...

Kit Close To You de la collection Maia
Brodé sur toile 16 ct tan Aida
Avec brins Anchor
Cette grille provient d'une peinture originale de l'artiste Nel Whatmore

Photo ci-dessus montre où j'en suis pour l'instant

  4. Very lovely and what bright colors. I don't consider anything a WIP/UFO unless it's been sitting in my project box for at least 2 years!! [LOL]

    1. Thank you! 16ct is easier on Aida, if you've never done it before. 32ct on evenweave, is the equivalent & sadly my eyes can't take it anymore!

    1. Thank you! I so wish it was finished, I love it so much.
Although, I initially planned to keep this one for me, I have now decided to offer it to Mummy Mii :) Yes, she is still waiting on an other one that I really don't want to stitch anymore (my tastes have changed), so I thought to offer her this one instead.... I must have it finished by December... this year!!! I really hope she'll like it. xxxx

  31. Very nice indeed. I was considering this one myself. I am doing Ember II by Maia (well once I manage to start it). I have another kit by Maia but cannot decide what will go well with Ember II. Although I probably didn't expect the colours to be so bright!
What are you making it into? Once you finish it. Also hoping to see more progress (and not next January).

    1. Don't worry, you will see regular progress on this one :) It has to be finished by Dec (this year) as a present. I'm hoping to have it professionally framed, if the cost is reasonable.
I also have Well Worth Waiting For - Peony from the same company. I'll leave it in my stash for now... Way too many projects on the go at the moment :)
