July Stamp - Lizzie Kate

 A new month has started
and here is my new stamp finish

oOo

Design is the July stamp from Lizzie Kate

My model was stitched on
Zweigart aida fabric, 14 count, pewter colour.
Worked with all the recommended DMC threads.

The piece was finished as a small pincushion using red polka fabric and grey lace from my stash.

I have decided to not use the provided black tiny buttons.
They were supposed to be used to make little bugs hovering around the watermelon.
Seriously?? How to be put off!
Watermelon should be enjoyed bugs free, don't you think?

Instead, I have tried something new!
I have made a tiny fabric yo-yo
and placed it on my model with a small light blue button

This design was not my favourite to stitch so far in the stamp collection
but I'm pleased with this overall simple look

Happy Stitching!
Mii

  16. I love it! Funnily enough, I bought a melon this morning so am now going to enjoy it whilst thinking about your pin-cushion. Perhaps the little black buttons could have been for the seeds? Even so, I think anything black would have spoiled the bright design. :)

    1. Buttons were too big for the seeds and chart was suggesting them for the bug... It really put me off, there was no way I would have used them :D Enjoy your yummy melon!! Mine will be eaten this evening. Thank you for kindly leaving a comment too.

  20. Lovely little piece there Mii - I had seen that design and wondered if the little black beads were meant to represent the watermelon seeds... surely the idea of bugs would put a lot of stitchers off making it??!

    ReplyDelete

    1. There are no beads for this design. The chart comes with 3 small black buttons that are meant to be used for some kind of flying bugs... I personally think it looks awful, so I'm glad I didn't put them. However, tiny little black beads for the seeds would have been a great idea! Why didn't I think of that?? I thought it was a bit odd to place white crosses... Very unrealistic :)
