Halloween biscornu #515 - The Floss Box

I have now finished & posted my little ornament for the
Halloween Ornament Exchange organized by Kim
- Participants will now wonder & check out their letterbox :P -

As I was still in a Halloween mood,
I have worked on a biscornu!

oOo

Top

Design called Biscornu #515 from The Floss Box

So impressed with this online shop:
Quick & cheap download and soooo many designs to choose from too!!

Stitched on 28ct Brittney evenweave fabric, light taupe colour
Using all preconized DMC threads

Bottom

It was the first time I've made a biscornu using evenweave fabric.
I must admit I prefer the aida finish.

The fabric is not stiff enough to my liking, so I made sure to overstuff it.

Finished biscornu will be available on my Etsy shop soon!

Thank you for visiting my little blog and
always leaving sweet comments
It is much appreciated :)

Toodles,
Mii

You like new adventure, so I think you should give it a go!
Browse tutorials first, it will give you a better idea on how to stitch both pieces together to give them the "biscornu" look... I think it is quite easy :) Have fun!! xxx

  6. Super cute and a beautiful finish. The even-weave fabrics are not all cotton and I think they have more stretch. So it can require a different technique to get them stuffed nicely, but you nailed it!

I love working on evenweave but I learnt my lesson for biscornus.... always use good old boring aida :D
Pleased with the finish, so glad I've over stuffed it.

  8. J'avoue ne pas être "fan" de cette fête, mais par contre j'aime beaucoup les petites broderies qui s'y rapportent, c'est plutôt amusant, et ce magnifique biscornu en est la preuve ! bonne soirée

All you have to do is "join" the top & bottom pieces (make sure you are at the centre) and voila! I sadly didn't have a small enough Halloween button for this one, but they are ideal to "hide" the stitch...

Good luck with your Esty shop - I hope it is a great success!

I hope the Christmas exchange goes well, I have yet to ever attempt to make a biscornu...perhaps it should be on my to do list when I get my bug back.
