Santa - Rhona Norrie

Today's post is a little nod to Rhona!
I have stitched one of her lovely designs :)

This is Santa, designed by Rhona Norrie and
available in the latest issue of TWOCS

This little cutie was stitched on 16ct Zweigart aida fabric, ice blue colour
Using the recommended DMC colours

Finished off as a tiny ornament
- cushion measures 5.5cm x 5.5cm -
using beautiful ice blue coloured beads offered by June
- Thank you sweetie -

It was a quick and fun stitch,
just what I needed to have my mojo back.

Now, off to put a few more crosses on Mummy Mii's project
Which I fear won't be finished for Christmas
I'll show you an update soon.

Thank you to all my readers who have kindly provided tips on where to purchase DMC at a cheaper price.
I have wisely spent a few ££ at Cross Stitch Heaven and I'm looking forward to receiving my latest skeins.
I will show you all this in my next post too.

Have a lovely weekend,
Toodles
Mii

  9. I saw these in the magazine and thought they were so sweet, I am thinking of maybe doing them as a set for presents next year - I know I won't have time to do it this year!

I don't know if you will be interested but Stitcher Anon is thinking of doing a monthly payment scheme next year, and by the end of the year you will have the full set of DMC threads. I am waiting to hear the prices but could be good :)

      Sorry, I'm not so patient!
I only have a few to go now, so will probably place a bulk order and I'll then be able to move on.

  33. This is beautiful and love all the beads around the edge and the hanger.

Just read your post about the cost of threads and have to agree it does seem pricey - Hobbycraft didn't have the colour I wanted the other day so had to buy in the city centre and it cost even more at 95p! You can buy them from The Patchwork Rabbit OLNS for 72p a skein and the postage is reasonable is quite reasonable too - if you'd bought 10 from there even with postage it would have worked out at 81p.

Try Cross Stitch Heaven for your DMC threads. I just found out about this shop, following my previous post. They are based in UK and charge only 39p per skein... I, of course, have placed an order straight away. Postage was really cheap too. Everyone seems to be pleased with this shop... now looking forward to receiving my package :)
