Christmas Biscornu Swap

Time to show you the biscornus made & received for the
Christmas Biscornu Swap that I have organized.

o O o

I sent my biscornu to Kim in the USA

I chose a pattern titled
Christmas Joy from Barbara Ana
provided as a freebie on Cyberstitchers

My model was stitched on DMC 14ct count iridescent delft blue aida fabric,
- Which doesn't seem to show very well on my pictures -
using the 11 DMC preconized thread colours

Finished off with a red little button

My package was also including other bits and pieces such as
Christmas fabric fat quarter, Christmas ribbon, Anchor threads,
Yankee scented candle "Christmas cookie", chocolates and
a little wooden Christmas count down Santa.

Unfortunately, in my haste to pack and post my gifts,
I sadly forgot to take pictures of all these little extra.
Kim I hope you don't mind, I've been cheeky & borrowed yours!

o O o

My biscornu came all the way from the USA
from Angela

Stitched on small count black fabric,
with beads and speciality stitches

Also received floss & trim
Thanks Angela!

This was my last exchange/swap.
As you know, I was pondering with this idea for a while.
You all know it takes time and cost money to participate in exchanges.

At the moment, I just want to concentrate on my little Etsy shop

o O o

Thank you to all of you who took part in this exchange.
I hope you enjoyed your gifts and took time to email a thank you note to your partner.

There are more biscornus to admire,
hop over to these creative participants:

Justine, Angela, Sonia, Varla Lee, Michelle, June,
Kim, Albéna, Judith, Mary, Angelika, Joëlle,
Stacy 123, Heather & Melanie

Toodles,
Mii

  3. Your swaps are always a pleasure to watch but I really don't know how you can bear to give so much of your stitching away! You deserve a break from swaps to stitch things for yourself now. Have fun in choosing your next projects! :)

  5. Christmas Joy lives up to it's name - thank you for the link. Both biscornus are lovely. I've never made one but it's on my list of things that I must try. I can relate to the pressure of swaps you mention .... I think that's why I don't participate in any. Enjoy. ^^

  17. Gorgeous biscornus both sent and received! I can see the sparkle in your fabric...
Sorry to read that you won't be doing any exchanges for a while, but you know that I am also trying to simplify life and get back to stitching for pleasure. So I understand why you're doing it. I hope you don't regret the exchange gifts you sent to me earlier in the year (my gorgeous strawberry pinkeep and biscornu) as they are out on display in my little craft room and are truly treasured.
Looking forward to our JEC SAL in 2015!

    1. THank you sweetie!
Of course I have absolutely no regrets!!! I regret I won't be taking part in more of them for the time being :)
I truly enjoyed making all of my finishes... Sometimes even wished I could have kept them all :D That Gorjuss fabric tray, I was really proud of it :P
I just want to stitch more for Mii really... and there is only a small sal... with small designs, so they shouldn't interfere too much with my plans
      Big hugs to you xoxo

  24. Just the cutest Barbara Ana biscornu. I love her designs. And you really know how to pack in the extra goodies too!

Your gifts form Angela are wonderful as well. A very successful exchange!

I agree about the postage rates. Unbelievable how the cost of mailing, particularly on the international side as gone up over the last few years.
