September Stamp - Lizzie Kate

A quick post,
I'm still poorly with a cold that my son has kindly decided to pass on to me...
and strangely suffering with one of my eye (despite the all clear following a thorough eye test)

Better show you my September stamp before the end of the month

My model was stitched on 14ct white Zweigart fabric
and using recommended DMC threads.

I have placed the 3 little red buttons for the apples in the tree.

I have absolutely no idea how to finish this,
the stitching coverage is not grate and I just don't like the overall look of this finish

This explains the lack of enthusiasm for the "finish finish"
I will put it aside and hope for the creative bug to make an appearance soon!

Now trying to stitch my biscornu for the Christmas swap
I am really struggling and take each day as it comes

A few days ago I've received a little parcel all the way from beautiful Canada.
I had won a surprise giveaway from
Lynda Ruth over at Purple Pixie Dust

Here are my little treats!!
Thank you so much Lynda Ruth :)

Halloween biscornu #515 - The Floss Box

I have now finished & posted my little ornament for the
Halloween Ornament Exchange organized by Kim
- Participants will now wonder & check out their letterbox :P -
As I was still in a Halloween mood,
I have worked on a biscornu!
Design called Biscornu #515 from The Floss Box
So impressed with this online shop:
Quick & cheap download and soooo many designs to choose from too!!
Stitched on 28ct Brittney evenweave fabric, light taupe colour
Using all preconized DMC threads
It was the first time I've made a biscornu using evenweave fabric.
I must admit I prefer the aida finish.
The fabric is not stiff enough to my liking, so I made sure to overstuff it.

Finished biscornu will be available on my Etsy shop soon!
Thank you for visiting my little blog and
always leaving sweet comments
It is much appreciated :)

One Lovely Blog Award

What a pleasant surprise to find out I recently have been awarded the
One Lovely Blog Award
from Jacquie over at My Journey
Thank you sweetie :)

So what is exactly this "One Lovely Blog Award", you might wonder???
It is going around on the blogosphere.
Here are the rules:

1/ Thank the person that nominated you and link back to them in your post
2/ Share 7 things about yourself
3/ Nominate bloggers you admire
4/ Contact your chosen bloggers to let them know

Okay, so let's work our way down through that list

Share 7 things about myself... oooh, this is so difficult for me.
I want this to stay a cross stitch blog, so how about stitchy related stuff?

I only work with a loop...
and a LED light when daylight is poor (which seems to be quite often!)

I love stitching on evenweave fabric and linen is sadly not my friend

Chocolate and white wine can sometimes be seen near my cross stitch working station :P

I am my worth critic with my finishes...

I rarely alter the design I'm working on and
tend to use the recommended colours... most of the time

I stitch everyday. It's a must!!! I'd be lost without it!

I probably have enough projects to keep me going for a long time...
but I can't stop myself: there is always a new chart I must add to my list....
I blame my blogger friends for this! :D

Nominate bloggers you admire
You are all special in your own way and I always enjoy reading your blogs.

There is a lovely Lady who always leave great comments,
always take part in my exchanges,
is so so enthusiastic and
email me asking for advice/guidance and
sent me the cutest finished little mouse ever... this is
Justine over at Justine's Cross Stitch

Hop over to Justine's blog to find out who she will pass the award to next!!

Like a few other blogger friends,
I have decided to show my support and do some fundraising
for the breast cancer research charity that Gaynor is supporting.

Gaynor has especially designed a new chart for a beautiful needleroll finish.
By giving just 1 Euro, you will get a copy of the chart and instructions.
More importantly, you will help towards the 500 Euros target she is hoping to get.

Follow me to her blog Stitchers Anon where you will find more details.

Follow me to her Just Give page for your kind donation.

My contribution for some of the prizes you could win.
The draw will be on the 31st October 2014...

A complete Gorjuss kit from Bothy Threads (new)
called Ruby

A Tralala chart (gently used)
called Chasse à l'oeuf

On an other note,
I have finally taken the plunge and opened my little Etsy shop :)
I have been thinking about this for quite a long time and never dared...

Feel free to have a little look around!

Les Croix De Fresia

Just a quick note to let you know that Marie-Christine,
after big issues with her blog Berberis & Patchwork,
had no choice but to have her blog removed from Blogger
The good news is that you can still follow Marie-Christine
on her new blog:
Come and hop over!

Secret stitching...

This is so frustrating!!!
So much to show, but it is all secret stitching...
I have plenty of stitching done for the
Halloween Ornament Exchange organized by Kim.
Sadly, I cannot yet share it with you all... yet!
I have been so busy and my package is nearly ready for "despatch"
I am also about to start on my
Christmas Biscornu Swap piece soon
So again, won't be able to show you my finish until much much later!
There is still plenty of time for more participants to join the fun.
Please read my previous post & leave a message if you wish to take part.
We have 13 biscornu makers so far :)
Then I plan on starting the
6 Fat Men Flip-It collection from Lizzie Kate
I have my fabric and all the charts ready.
I just need to check on any missing threads.
Progress will be shared as I go along...
So apologies for the lack of posts in the coming few days
but all my current projects are secret...
I will still be reading your lovely blogs,

Tutti Frutti Swap

Back in June I'd organised the
Tutti Frutti Swap
We are now in September and it is time to show you
all these fruity-licious finishes that have kept us so busy ☺
First, let me show you the lovely gifts that I have received from

Albéna over at Le blog d'Albéna

A lovely frame with a fruity design called
Le Temps Des Cerises from 1 2 3 Citrouille
Albéna also included perfect little goodies:
A Tralala chart, cake recipe,
fabric, threads (one of them is from Atalie and is called Melon, how sweet!),
buttons, strawberry candle & yummy sweets!

Thank you so much Albéna.
I have loved every single items you sent me ☺

I had to send my pieces to
Justine over at Justine's Cross Stitch

I have sent two finished models.

The first one was
M'lady's Strawberries from Little House of Needleworks

I have stitched this design on 28ct Britney taupe evenweave,
2 over 2 using all preconized DMC & hand dyed Crescent Colours

Finished as a pinkeep
with red ribbon & strawberry pins from Nathy Créations
and a tutti frutti fabric for the back (which I totally forgot to take a picture of... :P)

My second finished piece is a simple little biscornu.

I found the chart while browsing the web and just loved these little strawberries!
I used 14ct white aida fabric and DMC threads and a little button for the centre

Now, for the little extras...

3D strawberry sticky notes, note book, a cherry/vanilla candle,
a strawberry shaped carrier bag, apple lip gloss, apple trinklet box, strawberry/cherry hand towel...

Light pink Permin aida fabric, strawberry & polka fabric fat quarters, DMC & overdyed threads,
buttons (from Nathy Créations) and 2 charts
(Garden Pleasures & Strawberry House from Little House of Needleworks)...

And finally
a few little fruity themed treats

Thank you to all of the lovely Ladies who kindly took part in this swap,
I truly hope you enjoyed it

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope everyone receives their goodies
in due course
