Brownbird Sampler - Bent Creek

Never been too fond of samplers in the past,
but as mentioned in one of my older posts,
they are starting to grow on me!

So I have finally got round to stitching one!

This is Brownbird Sampler from Bent Creek

Stitched on 14ct aida fabric, light rustico colour.

I have used all the recommended WDW & GA overdyed floss
- Yes, I have exceptionally ditched my favourite DMC cotton! -

It was really fun to work on and
I also had the opportunity to learn a few specialty stitches:

The Chevron stitch

The Rice stitch

The Long Armed Cross stitch

and the Open Herringbone stitch

My favourite was the rice stitch, doesn't it look lovely?

No proper "finish" this time,
I believe Samplers owe to be framed.
Well, this one anyway...

So it's going to go in my
"awaiting-for-a-decent-frame" pile
until I find something suitable... one day.

Toodles,
Mii
