A little exchange anyone??

I have been admiring these little swaps taking place on various blogs I follow
and I have now decided to give it a go...

A little cross stitched envelope exchange!!

Source: Internet

How about that?

You have to stitch a design and finish it as an envelope.
Send it along with a little card and little goodies such as floss, ribbon or buttons

Nothing big, as it's got to fit in the envelope you've made :)

Various tutorials are available on the French www, just type "enveloppe brodée tuto"

No theme but be ready to post worldwide.

OoOoO

No idea if any of you would be interested,
for those of you brave enough, please leave a comment stating you wish to take part

(Apologies, I will only accept people who have an active blog!!)

You have until the 1st May to enter.

OoOoO

Let's make sure, once you know your partner,
your envelope is sent before the 1st July

EDIT:
Some of you have asked if we have to send the envelope as it is by just affixing stamps or if we can put it in an envelope for safe/clean traveling purpose.
Well, I don't know about you but stitching takes a long time and I want my piece to
a/ reach the recipient and
b/ still look good
so I personally won't be taking any risks and will place my stitched envelope in an envelope
- I know, sounds a bit silly - but I'd rather be safe than sorry
So, I leave it to the participants to do it the way they'd prefer, it's entirely up to you :)

Toodles,
Mii

  21. I have participated lots of Mail Art Exchange until our local postal barred us from mailing the stitched envelope as it is. I would love to participate if only mailing it in an envelope is acceptable by you, but I'll get the stamps post marked first on the stitched envelope. If otherwise, I am ok no offence, and I have a tutorial on Mail Art finishing method in blog. You can check it out on the side bar.

    1. Hi Lillie, I have edited my post since you're not the first person enquiring about this.
Personally, I will be sending my stitched piece in an envelope as I want to make sure it reaches my recipient. So, you are more than welcome to do it the way you want. I'm just really happy that you've decided to join the fun. Feel free to place your mail art in an envelope, I don't mind.
I'll email all participants after the 1st May.

    1. Entirely up to you sweetie! I've edited my post because other people mentioned this.
Some want to use the stitched envelope as the actual envelope, others would prefer placing it into a regular envelope. I don't mind at all, the main thing is that your recipient receive a stitched envelope. I will personally place mine into an envelope, no way Mr Postman is going to keep it for its collection :D
Thanks for taking part and joining the fun. I will email all participants after the 1st May.

    2. Excellent! Thanks Mii :) I'd hate to think what a beautifully stitched envelope would look like after being exposed to the elements without a protective cover! Will wait for your mail :)
