Race For Life 2015 & Gift

Today is not a cross stitch related post...
My work colleagues & I will be taking part in the
Race For Life 5km event on the 31st May 2015
We will be "racing" (or more like crawling) for the
Cancer Research UK charity
Feel free to donate a little something
I will be offering a gift voucher
to one of you who have donated.
The gift voucher will be for an online cross stitch shop,
for double the value that you have donated
If there are more than one of you kindly donating,
I will put your name in a virtual hat & randomly pick one lucky winner.
In order to be able to recognize who's donated via this post,
please make sure you leave the words "Mii Stitch" as comment when donating
The winner will be announced on the 1st June 2015.
Thank you in advance to whoever will donate,
it is truly appreciated
I will be back soon with some cross stitch finish,

Skating Robin - Joan Elliott (JEC SAL)

I have a small finish!!!

Skating Robin
from Joan Elliott

This is the January month from the 2015 calendar gifted
in issue 224 (December) of TWOCS magazine

This is the first of 12 designs for my JEC SAL

Stitched on 28ct Zweigart evenweave,
pearl grey colour

Using all preconised DMC threads,
2 over 2

Finished off as a pinkeep
using fabric, ribbon & pins from my stash.

I absolutely love it and I'm really pleased with the overall finish.

I wasn't particularly fond of the design to start with,
but this little robin is slowly starting to grow on me!

December Stamp - Lizzie Kate

Another pre-Christmas finish to share,
now that I have free time in my days!

December Stamp from Lizzie Kate, the last of the Stamp Collection.
Stitched on 14ct DMC iridescent delft blue aida,
using DMC threads

Again, my pictures don't seem to have captured the iridescent threads in the fabric

Finished off as another ornament using
little white buttons,
Merry Christmas ribbon and
green fabric with sparkly golden stars

Here is a little collage of my monthly
stamps finishes

Which are your favourites?

November Stamp - Lizzie Kate

Hello, hello, hello!!

Apologies for being so quiet & remote these past few weeks.
The festive holidays were really busy and far from being resting & relaxing.

Life is slowing down a pace and I can finally show you a pre-Christmas finish.

I initially planned to blog about this for Thanksgiving.
The stitching was actually done on time but
there was simply not enough hours in my day for the finishing.

November Stamp from Lizzie Kate
Stitched on 16ct Permin aida fabric, sage colour.
DMC threads.

I just loved stitching this little turkey,
the colours were just right.

I finished it off as a simple ornament
using cord & recently acquired fabric from
Craft Cotton Co, designed by Victoria Louise

I will be back shortly with the December stamp!

Taking the opportunity to send all my lovely readers
my best wishes for the New Year 2015.
