The Dairy

Hello Peeps!

Long time no see.

Slightly late putting together & publishing this post,
so some of you will probably feels like a bit of déjà vu!!

Following our first meet up last year, JustineRachel & I
decided to organize our own cross stitch retreat!

After a long & much anticipated wait (yes, we were actually counting down the days),
the time had finally arrived to see each other again.

We spent the entire of last weekend at The Dairy.
 Our cottage was simply Perfect!

Goody bags were exchanged... all with a Halloween theme.
I have been gifted with the most beautiful pieces.

A sweet little pinkeep made by Justine
- Did you notice, it's a FRENCH witch, just like me! HAHA

There was also plenty of other little treasures:
Chart, choccies, candle, needles, needle box,

 Fabulous fabric & threads

My very own ornament made by Rachel.
She actually surprised us all & finished her Halloween stitching into a beautiful ornament.
Check out those colours!

There was again more fantastic goodies:
Note book, candle, silk & glow in the dark threads, ribbons, fabrics

and a Halloween booklet full of frightful charts!
I'm all stocked up for next year.

I have not taken pictures of my Halloween bags but
can share the small stitching pieces I made.

Justine was gifted with a
Halloween Witch designed by Durene Jones
Available in issue 233 of TWOCS magazine

Stitched on 14ct aida fabric, pewter colour
Using all DMC preconized colours

Finished off as a small pincushion using rainbow coloured beads

Rachel was gifted with a little ghost,
Boo designed by Lorraine Clarke
Available free on Cyber Stitchers

Stitched on 14ct aida fabric, dark rustico colour
Using all DMC preconized colours - swapped white for glow in the dark light effect thread
Finished off as a small ornament using black & green beads

I did manage to start 2 small projects,
despite forgetting to pack my LED light (of course, I had to forget to pack this!)
I will keep on working on them for now & will share my finishes with you all soon

Thanks again to my two best friends for this wonderful time away.
I cannot wait for our next meet up :)

A few days ago, Mr Postman delivered a surprise little packet from Italy.

A little while ago I'd won a handmade prize from Roberta.

She had been away from the blogosphere for a little while but is now back!
Check out her blogs Le Scarpe Di Camilla & Thread And Passion

I had totally forgot about this but
Roberta kept to her words & kindly surprised me with a little necklace!

It is so soft and I love the choice of colours.
Thank you again Roberta!

That's all for now!

Halloween Mail Art - Sent

Hello Peeps!!

I believe my partner has now received my little package,
so it is about time I show you my latest finish.

I sent my Halloween creation to Joanne

Now, I know this lady is particularly fond of Halloween stitching,

I thought she deserved something special and a little different.

I have opted for
Halloween Purse

Stitched on Permin 16ct aida fabric, sage colour.
Used all preconized DMC colours, including light effects/glow in the dark & beads

I've added a matching piece of cotton fabric for the inner
and assembled my work using the biscornu method

There was much more work than anticipated on this model
I have worked on it on & off since July

Side 1

Side 2

I sadly forgot to take a picture of the top & bottom... there are stitched paw prints too!

All the hard work was worth it!

I am really pleased with my finished piece.
I am sure Jo will treasure it.

Included in the purse were a few goodies
(chart, threads, rubber pumpkin, Lego Monsters Mini Fig & choccies)
that, in my haste to send off, I forgot to take pictures of.

Until my next post,
