Close To You - Maia | Apr 2016 Update

Hello Peeps!

Time for my mid-month update on the
Faithful April challenge set up by Justine

A quick reminder
This is what the finished design should look like

This is where I was when I started the challenge
The project had been left untouched since Nov 2014.

This is where I am now,
half way through the challenge

I am happy with my progress.
I was really looking forward to working again on this design as
the bright colours really appeal to me.

I did struggle with the green leaf on the right,
it was never ending! Hues of green for days on end!

My plan was to finish all the right side of the design during the first half of the month,
so that I could focus on the left side for the remainder of April.

Unfortunately, I am not quite there yet, which is in honesty what
I am not pleased about. I must be a slow stitcher!

Better get back to it then...

Toodles,
Mii

  1. This is a bigger project than it first looks and considering you have not stitched on it every day I think you've made great progress. The foliage is full of gorgeous colours, greens included! Good luck for the second half of the month. :)

Yes it is quite a big size project. The finished size is 35x35cm or 14x14", which is bigger than my usual smalls.

I am glad I am taking the time to work on this one, it makes a nice change to be be able to focus on one piece at a time.
I think I will revert to one project at a time when I finish my wip list, it is less stressing.

  18. You made a great progress!! It's looking beautiful :)
I know large leaves are sometimes unending when it comes to stitching, I have an old WIP for which an entire one page is just one giant leaf. But still green is fine to work with, my height chart's tree trunk is all greyish brown and unending.

I didn't enjoy working on the leaf as I don't like greens...
I am now working with brown...
