Guernsey Cow - Kate Mawdsley

Hello Peeps!

As you already know, Justine, Rachel & myself
regularly attend our very own weekend stitching retreat.

We usually stay at The Dairy, a beautiful cottage in
Staffordshire where everything is cow related.

With our next retreat fast approaching,
we thought it nice to offer a few stitched goodies to the cottage landlady...
Cows, of course!
A first for me.

Here we have my small
Guernsey cow
Designed by Kate Mawdsley
Available in TWOCS issue 177

Stitched on Cloud Green 16 count Aida fabric from Sew It All
2 over 1, using DMC threads

Started 29 Mar 2016
Finished 1 Apr 2016
Total stitching time: 8h30mns

And finished as a pinkeep using
the fabric showing on the first picture for the back.

OoO

The girls have been busy too,
the Jersey cow stitched by Justine.

I have finished it off as a pinkeep.

More info about this project will be available on Justine's blog

And Rachel's stitched piece, a Friesian cow that I too helped finishing as a pinkeep.

Again, more info about this project on Rachel's blog.

Here is our little trio,
ready for our next retreat...

Which just happen to be in 9 days time!

Toodles,
Mii

You have also done a great job with your tulip stitching. It looks really beautiful.

I really like the pinkeep finish type. It is easy and doesn't involve much sewing :)

    1. Aww, thank you Rita. This is so kind of you.
I must admit I wasn't too excited with the idea of stitching a cow but they all look sweet in their own way and would fit nicely within the cottage. Let's hope the landlady thinks so too :)

I am more familiar with the Normande cows as they are the ones we have in the family dairy farm back in France. Looks a bit similar to the Friesian one to be honest!

Believe me, I really struggled finishing them 3 :) I think I wasn't in a finishing mood and it felt more like a chore than fun!
But, still, I'm pleased with how they all look and simply relieved I didn't mess up the girls stitched pieces.

      Bisous. Bon week end !

Yes, cows were not ranking too high on my list of things to stitch! :D
But I'm glad we all agreed to do them. They will fit nicely within the cottage themed decoration and a sweet little gift for the landlady.
