Plant A Tree - Lizzie Kate

Good morning Peeps!

A small finish to share with you all

Plant A Tree
Green Flip It Series

This is how I left it back in January,
It was my CJC 2016 start #5

Stitched on 16 count Aida fabric from Sew It All
Clay colour

2 over 1, using DMC threads

And this is how it looks now it is finished

Started: 5 Jan 2016
Finish: 15 May 2016
Total stitch time: 5h25mn

Now wish I had chosen a darker colour of fabric for this design
as we can hardly see the wings of the little insects...
Oh well, I've learnt from my mistake!

I will "finish off" these cute designs once the whole series will be stitched.

This is now my CJC 2016 finish #6!

Toodles,
Mii

    1. Thanks, I think it's a cardinal.
Sadly we do not have such birds here in the UK.

  4. Congrats on finishing another CJC start! Excellent stitching as always, although I see what you mean about the wings. Worth backstitching them?

  13. Cute finish !! :) I feel light background is fine because the tree might not stand out on darker background as it is in this. For the wings, if you feel you may try a slightly darker cream or lightest brown.

  15. It looks good Ingrid! I can see the white wings but if you are unhappy maybe you can stitch the wings in another color or outline them with a back stitch? Love the bird on the branch too.

    1. Yes, I think it's a cardinal! LK being from the USA, those birds seem to be recurring in that part of the world :) I do find them really cute too!

  17. Cut finish :). What if you went back over the wings with a light blue or metallic? Or maybe just back stitched them in a dark gray. Just some ideas :)
