Etude au géranium - Véronique Enginger

Hello Peeps!

As mentioned in my latest post, time to show you the second WIP
that has taken a bit of my free stitching time recently.

This is Etude au géranium,
designed by botanical artist Véronique Enginger

Available at Les Brodeuses Parisiennes
This is how it will look like when finished The semi-kit came with the following: Coloured chart DMC references (no threads) Dragonfly charm and Fabric of your choice (18 count Aida) I believe I ordered it back in Feb this year and this is how it looks now after several hours of work    The details are amazing! There is a mix of full & half stitch using 1 or 2 threads and backstitch too. It will take time for me to finish it However, I love the series so much that I have decided to keep on working on it for the time being. I will try to post regular updates for those of you that are interested in seeing progress. How can I possibly resist and not buy the peony, orchid & hydrangea sets??! Toodles, Mii

Ladybug & Daisy - Ajisai Designs

Hello lovely Peeps,

In between my small monthly projects & SAL,
I do try to work on various different designs.

I thought it was about time I show you some of my WIPs.
I have been especially focusing on 2 main projects.

The first one being this cutie!

Ladybug & Daisy
by Ajisai Designs

I initially started this beautiful blackwork and cross stitch design on the 4 Jan 2016
for my first and only participation to the Crazy January Challenge.

This had sadly been left untouched ever since.

Model is stitched on 16 count Aida fabric from Sew It All, off white colour
Blackwork: 1 over 1 using black DMC thread Cross stitch: 2 over 1 using DMC threads I know blackwork is to be worked on Evenweave fabric but had none handy at the time... This is how it looked back in Jan 2016

I am pleased to say that things have changed a bit! I have been slowly adding a few crosses there & there and this is how it looks now.

Granted, there is still a lot left to do but I have made progress, which in…

Do more of what makes you happy - Abby Rose Designs

Hello Peeps, Well in between all those small monthly projects that I seem to be focusing on this year, I do try to find time here and there to work on other pieces... And so, I finally manage to come round to blogging about this small finish I did a little while ago Do more of what makes you happy From Abby Rose Designs

Apologies with my pictures, the sun was out in force at the time and unfortunately made them a bit too bright & shiny :)
A sweet & quick design, very much in tone with the Lizzie Kate style Worked on Zweigart cotton evenweave, 32 count Brittney, granite colour 2 over 2 using listed DMC threads

Yet to be finished into something - That is when "stitching" bug decides to leave some room/inspiration for "finishing" bug to strike! -

If you'd like a chance to stitch this pattern, please say so in your comment.
I am giving away the original chart to one lucky stitcher.
Happy to post worldwide too!

Winner will be announced in my next post!

Under the sea SAL - Durene Jones (Part 1)

Hello peeps! Despite all my best efforts in resisting the temptation, I have recently joined the Under the sea SAL available at Lakeside Needlecraft This is a year long project consisting of 12 monthly parts exclusively designed by Durene Jones The end design will represent a full under the sea picture Of course, I am a bit behind at the moment as the 3rd part has been released a few days ago, but I should be able to catch up in no time! So here is my first part, Mr Octopus! I have decided to stitch the whole SAL on 16 count Aida fabric from Sew It All, Ocean colour Design worked 2 over 1 using the recommended DMC threads
So much details & colour changes, Mr Octopus has been so much fun to stitch!
See you soon for part 2! Toodles, Mii

March Yearbook - Lizzie Kate

Good afternoon Peeps,

Another small update on my other monthly
on going project for this year

March Yearbook
from Lizzie Kate

Worked on 16 count Aida fabric from Sew it all
Linen colour

2 over 1 using DMC threads

Here how they look all together!
With a cheeky sneak peak of next month too...

Each monthly designs also come with their own charm.
I have decided to not add them for now.

As I am stitching them all together,
I am slightly worried the finished piece will look a bit to "bling-y" to my liking.

I will have to think about that again in December, when finished!

Fairy March - Lili of the valley

Hello Peeps,
Can you believe it? March is already here!
Spring is definitely in the air & we should soon enjoy some nice weather
New month means new fairy finish to share with you all.
This one is Easter themed and look out of place for now
as we won't be celebrating Easter until April... but still, she does look so cute! Fairy March Lili of the valley Stitched on 32 count Murano fabric from The Crafty Kitten, Halloween Mist colour Worked 2 over 2 using recommended DMC threads I am so pleased at how well the fabric colours match this sweet design
Who thought Halloween colours would be a good match for an Easter design?! No finishing ideas yet for this one but I have certainly had fun stitching her, which for me is the most important.

Finishing bug seems to have gone away for now &
I am in no mood to go & look for it.
Now looking forward to the April one, it is one of my few favourite is the fairy series.

Alice In Wonderland - Bothy Threads

Hello Peeps! Back in March 2015 I was gifted this kit for Mother's Day. After focussing on this project in Jan/Feb, it is now finally finished! Alice in Wonderland
Bothy Threads
kit version and includes: 14 count hand dyed Zweigart Aida fabric Black Madeira stranded cotton
Stitched 3 over 1
4 pages in total I only wish I had opted to use Linen instead of the Aida fabric. The design is mainly full crosses but for some of the details, half stitches are also used. Sadly, I feel these didn't work on Aida... My Cheshire Cat is now not grinning so much and it looks like Alice is trying to do some kind of finger shadow puppets! Now, what to stitch next? Toodles, Mii

My gift to you - La D Da

Hello Peeps, It has been difficult to keep this little project secret
but since the recipient has now received it, I can share this small finish with you.

The reason for the secrecy?
Justine's birthday!

So I made her a small present as a token of our friendship

Modified freebie design
from La D Da Stitched on 32 count Permin linen lambswool 2 over 2 using ThreadworX fibres 1053 & 1080
Finished off (biscornu style) as a small pincushion

Sent out with birthday card & gift voucher.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy Justine!
