Voodoo in violet | HAED

Hello Peeps!

My stitching bug has made an appearance and
finally came out of Summer hibernation
with an extra zest of pro-activity

Great news!

I have now started a new project... an HAED!

Voodoo in violet
from Jasmine Becket-Griffith's artwork
(Big thank you to Keebles for letting me discover the world of Strangeling)

400 stitches wide by 557 stitches high
88 colours

Finished design should measure
16 inches wide by 22-1/4 inches high

Worked on white 25 count magic guide evenweave fabric
using DMC threads
1 over 1, full crosses.

Started on 14/09/2017

Update / progress to follow after my first week of fun.

Toodles,
Mii

  9. Ahhhh, a HAED. Is this your first? I still have to start my first HAED but everything is prepared besides the grinding (which will be done soon). I'm looking forward to seeing your start on yours after this first week.

    1. Hi Brigitte,
It is my first official one!
I've started Moon Hare from TWOCS, but it doesn't count as it is much smaller.
I also started a "real" one years ago but disposed of it as I had not chosen the right fabric for it and it would have been absolutely MASSIVE ;)

    1. Hi Alicia!
I've already posted an update on this one and yes, I know they are rather addictive.... as I've already planned my second start, which will be on Friday.
I can't wait!!! I'm being good for now though and have only stopped at 2, so that I can have a rotation.
My wishlist on HAED is slowly growing though ;)
I've seen you WIP on the HAED BB too, I know you have a few on the go at the moment and they are all gorgeous!
Apologies, I am obsessed with HAED at the moment. Let's say that I've become rather hooked on those.

  22. What a fantastic looking project! A very daft question however - what does HAED mean? x

    1. It's not a daft question at all! HAED stands for Heaven And Earth Designs. This is the name of the company you can get those lovely charts from :)
They are well known to stitchers who like to work on tiny little crosses and full coverage.
